The Third Day of an Odyssey—Helen 09/18/12

We are stuck on Ocracoke Island-stranded really.  The wind is blowing 15 to 20 knots from south and is expected to increase during the day.  We need to go south to return to Oriental and the waves and wind will produce 4-5 foot seas—doable but uncomfortable.  So we decided the most prudent thing to do was stay put for a few days.

A calm and hopeful start of a new Love Odyssey

Nestled in at the Ocracoke docks, ready for a blow

Our Odyssey couple is happy to stay here.  There is so much to do and see on the island, even if it storms later in the day.  They are having fun discovering the little shops, restaurants, and beaches on the island.  They are also making incredible progress on their marital issues.  Even the first day, Sunday, we saw them getting much-needed hope that their problems  were not insurmountable.  So sometimes being stranded is not such a bad thing!
