Bryce and I really love to explore together. We have enjoyed sharing exploration for the past thirty years. So this weekend we are taking a mini vacation in the mountains around Asheville. It has been close to twelve years since we were up here and so much has changed. Last night we enjoyed walking around the city and looking for interesting shops and eateries that allow dogs (most restaurants that have patio dining). We found a funky little place on a back street that had good beer and good vibes. The black bean burgers were also exceptional.
This morning we decided to drive to Brevard the long way via the Blue Ridge Parkway. The air was crisp and the views were spectacular. We stopped at Looking Glass Falls to enjoy the sight and sound and take some photos. Then on the Brevard. I know we visited here about twenty-some years ago but I had few images. Today was fun exploring this lovely, quirky and up-scale mountain city. Lunch was at a cafe in an alleyway that had wonderful vegetarian gumbo. Who knows where we will have supper tonight?!
